almost 7 years ago – Mon, Jul 10, 2017 at 03:30:07 PM

We’re on the home stretch! Just 3 days left and Gather is almost to $400K!

It’s so humbling and rewarding to have each and every one of you supporting a project that I’ve been working on for over 3 years. We’re already making good progress on the tooling, and the manufacturing is right on schedule.

I can’t wait to get Gather in your hands soon!

----

I'm doing a Kickstarter Live Q&A tomorrow (Tuesday 7:00pm ET / 4:00pm PT) to answer your questions as well as share some behind-the-scenes details about Gather.

Here’s some of what I’ll be talking about:

1. Why it took 3 years to design Gather.

2. Keys to our Kickstarter being a success.

3. What we are working on next. (Including the future of Gather)

Thanks for your support! See you tomorrow.

$300K and counting!
almost 7 years ago – Wed, Jun 28, 2017 at 06:12:42 PM

Gather continues to build momentum and we just crossed the $300,000 mark!

It’s been amazing to see Gather continue resonate with people all around the globe. Clutter seems to be a universal problem.

I’ve been working closely with our manufacturer to get a jumpstart on the tooling process. Our manufacturer is equally as excited about Gather’s success and is ready to scale to as big as we can go.

We also have a fulfillment center lined up that will be handling all of the shipping. They ship tens of thousands of packages every week so we are confident they will be able to ship everything in a timely manner.

----

A few things that people have been asking about:

1. Where did I get the wood monitor stand that's in the photos of my office?

I custom built the monitor stand so it’s not currently available for sale (though it might be in the future :-) ) Click here for my step-by-step instructions of how to build it.

2. How do I select which wood color I want for my Gather?

At the end of the campaign we’ll be sending out a survey where you’ll be able to select your wood color (walnut or maple).

3. Will I be able to add additional pieces after the campaign ends? What if my shipping address changes?

We are using a great service called BackerKit that will allow you to manage your shipping address as well as add extra pieces after the campaign ends. BackerKit makes is super easy and intuitive to modify these things.

And keep sharing Gather on Facebook and Twitter.

Gather just passed $250,000 and we’re only 1/3 of the into our campaign! This is 14x our original goal and taking Gather to places I never imagined.

Each of you has played an integral part in helping us reach this huge milestone. The press features keep coming and I’ve even been interviewed on several podcasts to talk about how I designed and launched Gather.

1051% Funded in the First Week!
almost 7 years ago – Mon, May 22, 2017 at 04:37:30 PM

What a week it's been!

Honestly I couldn't have asked for a better response to the launch Gather! There’s nothing more rewarding for me as a designer than seeing how excited people are about the product, and I’ve been blown away by where Gather is popping up.

-----

We’re Ready to Scale

If you’ve had any doubts about whether or not we'll be able to fulfill all of your rewards, there’s no need to worry.

I just talked to our manufacturer about how big the response to our campaign has been so far, and they assured me that they are ready to scale as big as we can go.

They do projects at our scale and much much larger, and they’re confident they can deliver the finished products with the quality and detail we expect - on time! We are excited to get Gather into your hands as soon as we can!

This is crazy! 100% funded in 47 minutes! $100K in less than 24hrs!
almost 7 years ago – Tue, May 16, 2017 at 10:17:53 PM

The past 24hrs have been absolutely crazy! Not even sure what to say right now other than THANK YOU!

You guys helped us reach 100% of our funding goal in only 47 minutes! And we raised $100,000+ funding in under 24 hours!

This has been the biggest 24hrs ever in the 8+ years I’ve been running Ugmonk. I am so grateful for your support to help me make Gather a reality. I’ve poured many many hours into Gather over these past 3 years and several times almost gave up on it. I wasn’t sure if it was worth all of the headaches, but I’m so glad I pushed through and finally launched it.

What’s next?

Since we will definitely be manufacturing Gather, we are going to get started on the tooling now so we can speed up the whole process. I won’t make any promises that we will deliver early, but getting a jumpstart on this will help move things along even faster.

What can you do to help?

Just because we hit our funding goal doesn’t mean we can let off the gas. Kickstarter is all about momentum. The more people that can discover Gather now, the more exposure we will get.

This is a huge moment for us. I would LOVE for you to share Gather with anyone you know that might be interested:

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
